Doctor Golovko is trained and Board Certified in the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He has been practicing industrial medicine in Lubbock, Texas for the past five years in a busy solo practice. The medical practice is 100% Workers' Compensation patients. A full-breadth of injuries is seen, evaluated and treated. Doctor Golovko serves the needs of some of the largest employers in Lubbock and the surrounding areas.

Specific strengths are:
  • Diagnosis and treatment of work-related musculoskeletal injuries (treatment is based on objective, peer reviewed clinical guidelines with special attention paid to utilization management)

  • Completion of a one year fellowship in the non-operative treatment of upper extremity orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries.

  • Training in electrodiagnostic medicine (performing and interpreting upper extremity nerve conduction studies.)
Specific Experience

Doctor Golovko is a certified Designated Doctor and is authorized to certify MMI and assign impairment ratings. He also performs Required Medical Examinations and Independent Medical Examinations.

Additionally Dr. Golovko performs Peer Reviews, Chart Reviews, Retrospective Reviews and Pre-authorization on a routine basis. All medical reports are based on objective, peer-reviewed medical criteria, literature and studies. Specific criteria utilized is quoted and noted in the report.

Common criteria utilized include: Cochrane Collaboration Reviews, AHCPR Guidelines, AHRQ Guidelines, Official Disability Guidelines, and ACOEM Guidelines, just to name a few.

Specific medical studies and guidelines are quoted within the report to address issues such as spinal injections, spinal surgery, discography, IDET, "whiplash" and upper and lower extremity surgical procedures.

This allows for the report to be based on objective criteria rather than "common medical practice" which is subjective in nature. It also allows the report to be "Daubert-Defendable"

Currently Dr. Golovko performs these services for a variety of entities including the TWCC, workers compensation insurance carriers and third party administrators.
